Chickpea Burger

Chickpea Burger - My Store

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • One 14-ounce can chickpeas, drained
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel
  • 1/4 teaspoon sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1/8 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal

For cooking:

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Place the chickpeas in a bowl and mash them until no chunks remain.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the chickpeas and mix well. Use your hands for best results to combine thoroughly.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  4. Heat a pan to medium with olive oil. Sauté turmeric and black pepper for 1 minute until sizzling and forming a thicker paste.
  5. Spread the paste evenly over the pan, then add the patties. Cook for 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
