Let's get into it, so if there is one supplement I wish every person on the planet would take every single day, it would be liquid chlorophyll. It has been one of my favorite daily health habits since 2009, and I believe it is one of nature's greatest gifts for supporting thriving wellbeing!
Most of you know when I hit rock bottom with my health, part of my healing protocol was drinking fresh juices, I drank up to six fresh juices every day and alternated between green juice and beet juice. Those green juices were packed with chlorophyll from leafy greens like kale, spinach, parsley, celery leaves, lettuce, cucumber and sprouts. During that time, I became fascinated by the power of chlorophyll and the role it plays in supporting the body's natural healing processes. And it blew my mind and still continues to do so to this day.
To this day when people ask me, where is the first place I should start with my health, and if I can only do one thing what should it be? I always say chlorophyll. It does 1,000 good things for the body, in just one simple dose.
It took me 3 months to dissolve a golf ball size tumor with chlorophyll rich green juices and a comprehensive detox plan. After I had healed, I made a pact to myself to continue to drink chlorophyll every single day for the rest of my life. And I've done that now for the last 17 years! Do you think I regret it? Not one bit, in fact I believe it's a major factor of why I've maintained such great health and energy over these years, and have helped many people to do the same.
Today, I still prioritize green juices for my source of chlorophyll whenever possible. However, on busy mornings or when I'm traveling and don't have a fresh juice available, I simply add liquid chlorophyll to my water. It is one of the simplest and most affordable health habits we can do! You will not regret it also. I always challenge people and say drink it daily for 7 days and then tell me how you feel, no one wants to stop drinking liquid chlorophyll after they've tried it consistently for 7 days.
The liquid chlorophyll I personally use and recommend is Earth Harmony Liquid Chlorophyll. I add the recommended serving to a large glass of warm filtered water, along with fresh lemon juice, and drink it first thing in the morning. I trust Earth Harmony, I know the owners, brothers, Dr Jon and Ed Group, they have a solid reputation in high quality organic supplements, they have a triple water filtration system in their facility (most supplement manufacturers do not care about the water let me tell you), and they even have an EMF protector here their facility so there are not strange frequencies going into your supplements! I also trust how they source the dark leafy greens to make the chlorophyll.

What Is Chlorophyll?
Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in plants that allows them to absorb energy from sunlight. It is what gives leafy greens, herbs, algae, and vegetables their vibrant green color. Every time you eat spinach, celery, cucumber, kale, parsley, broccoli, sprouts, collard greens, dandelion greens, or other greens, or drink a green juice, you are consuming chlorophyll.
One reason chlorophyll has fascinated researchers is because its molecular structure closely resembles hemoglobin, the molecule in human blood responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body. The primary difference is that chlorophyll contains magnesium at its center, while hemoglobin contains iron. Under a microscope it looks exactly the same! Let this sink in, because when you get this visual and let it click in your brain, you can never unsee it. Chlorophyll looks like perfect blood, when you drink it, it helps to create perfect blood.

When I was sick with cancer cells, I did a live blood test where they check your blood and put it on the screen in live time right in front of you. I was surprised because my blood was not perfect circles, many of them were damaged and also clumped together because of lack of oxygen. One thing chlorophyll does is put an amazing amount of oxygen in the blood and body, which cancer cells and parasites hate.
This similarity of blood has led researchers to investigate chlorophyll's potential role in supporting blood health, oxygen transport, cellular function, and overall wellness.
So many reasons to embrace chlorophyll!
Chlorophyll has become one of my daily non-negotiables because it supports so many areas of health.
Chlorophyll helps support:
- Natural detoxification pathways
- Weight loss
- Amazing gut health, nervous system health and immune health
- Internal deodorant
- One of the best things for the skin
- Healthy liver function
- Cellular health
- Oxygen delivery throughout the body
- Healthy inflammatory responses
- Antioxidant protection
- Energy production
- Stress resilience
- A body that is inhospitable to cancer
I often tell my clients that if they regularly consume alcohol, processed foods, or experience periods of high stress, chlorophyll water can be a wonderful daily habit to support the body's natural cleansing processes.
Whenever I drink chlorophyll water, I visualize it coating and protecting my cells from oxidative stress and environmental toxins. It may sound simple, but creating this healthy daily ritual can have the most powerful impact on your health journey!

Chlorophyll is Biblical
The Leaves Are for Medicine, God Said So First!
Long before chlorophyll became a wellness trend, God wrote it into prophecy. In Ezekiel 47:12, the Lord describes a river flowing from His temple, and along its banks grow trees whose leaves never wither, and whose leaves are "for medicine." Centuries later, in Revelation 22:2, that vision reaches its fullness: the tree of life stands beside the river of life, and its leaves are "for the healing of the nations." Healing. Not just one person, not just one ailment, the nations. God has always had a healing plan rooted in the green things He created, and modern science is only beginning to catch up with what He declared from the beginning.
Chlorophyll, the green pigment found in every leafy plant, the very thing that captures the sun's energy and converts it into life, is one of the most powerful healing compounds in nature. God knew what he was doing! Research shows chlorophyll supports detoxification by speeding up waste elimination, balancing fluid levels, and reducing constipation, while also supporting metabolism and weight loss efforts. Studies have found that chlorophyll can bind to carcinogenic chemicals called aflatoxins in the intestines, helping to block their absorption and protecting DNA from damage, with scientists actively investigating its role in liver, skin, stomach, and colon cancer prevention. Chlorophyll and its derivatives also show promise in supporting glucose regulation, modulating gut microbiota, improving glucose tolerance, reducing inflammation, and alleviating obesity-related markers — making it relevant to one of the most widespread health crises of our time. It has even shown results in reversing signs of skin aging and reducing acne, and wound healing research has demonstrated that chlorophyll can support faster tissue repair and reduce infection. The leaves, just as the Word promised, truly are for medicine.
This is why eating your greens is not just a dietary recommendation — it is, in a very real sense, obedience to the design of your Creator. Spinach, kale, parsley, wheatgrass, spirulina, matcha — these are the leaves. Every time you nourish your body with them, you are stepping into the healing river that Ezekiel saw. God didn't wait for a clinical trial. He knew. And He told us thousands of years ago.

Chlorophyll and Detoxification
One of the most studied benefits of chlorophyll is its ability to help bind certain toxins and compounds within the body.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health studied 180 participants and found that chlorophyllin supplementation reduced biomarkers of aflatoxin-related DNA damage by approximately 55% compared with placebo.
Aflatoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain molds and are considered potential carcinogens. The findings suggest chlorophyll compounds may help reduce the absorption of certain harmful substances in the digestive tract.
This research has contributed to growing scientific interest in chlorophyll's role as a protective dietary compound.

Chlorophyll and Cancer Research
I always encourage people to understand the difference between laboratory research and human clinical outcomes.
Chlorophyll is not a treatment or cure for cancer. However, scientists continue to study chlorophyll and chlorophyll-derived compounds because of their potential effects on cellular health.
A study published in the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology found that a chlorophyll-derived compound was able to:
- Reduce prostate cancer cell viability
- Slow cancer cell growth
- Cause cell-cycle arrest
- Increase oxidative stress within cancer cells, contributing to their death
These findings were observed in laboratory settings and warrant further research, but they are certainly encouraging and help explain why chlorophyll continues to attract scientific attention.

Additionally, research published in Biomaterials demonstrated that chlorophyll-based nanocomposites inhibited the growth of melanoma tumors in animal models, suggesting future potential for cancer-related applications.
Chlorophyll, Magnesium, and Anxiety
One of the reasons chlorophyll is featured prominently in my book Anxiety-Free with Food is because chlorophyll naturally contains magnesium.
Magnesium is one of the most important minerals for supporting a healthy nervous system and helping the body respond to stress.
People with low magnesium intake are more likely to experience symptoms of anxiety, nervousness, and tension.
Chlorophyll offers a natural way to increase exposure to magnesium-rich plant compounds while also providing antioxidants and phytonutrients found in green foods.
Research has shown chlorophyll may also enhance oxidative stress tolerance, helping the body adapt more effectively to stressful conditions.
Chlorophyll and Oxygen
Many people describe feeling more energized when they regularly consume chlorophyll-rich foods.
One reason may be its structural similarity to hemoglobin.
Hemoglobin carries oxygen throughout the body. Chlorophyll's similar molecular structure has earned it the nickname "nature's blood builder."
While chlorophyll does not literally become blood, its unique structure and nutrient content have inspired decades of research into its relationship with oxygen transport and cellular health.
One of my favorite wellness practices is combining chlorophyll water with coconut water and fresh green juice.
Human blood is approximately 55 percent plasma, and coconut water has a remarkably similar electrolyte composition to plasma, making it a refreshing and hydrating pairing.

My Daily Chlorophyll Routine
For more than a decade, I have started my mornings with chlorophyll.
My routine is simple:
- Fill a large glass with filtered room temp or warm water.
- Add the recommended serving of Earth Harmony Liquid Chlorophyll.
- Add the juice of half a fresh lemon.
- Drink first thing in the morning.
I also love adding fresh ginger throughout the day, especially in juices, because it supports digestion, healthy inflammatory responses, detoxification, and healthy lymphatic function.
If I have time, I will make a fresh green juice instead. Any juice made with leafy greens naturally provides chlorophyll.
Remember:
Green plants = chlorophyll.
The more greens you eat, the more chlorophyll you consume.
Food Sources of Chlorophyll
Some of the richest sources include:
- Kale
- Spinach
- Parsley
- Cilantro
- Dandelion greens
- Collard greens
- Turnip greens
- Broccoli
- Broccoli sprouts
- Wheatgrass
- Chlorella
- Spirulina
- Green juices
- Leafy salads
- Matcha
If you regularly consume these foods, you are naturally increasing your chlorophyll intake every day.
Final Thoughts
Of all the supplements available today, chlorophyll remains one of my favorites.
It is simple.
It is natural.
It comes directly from plants.
For me, chlorophyll water is more than a supplement. It is a daily act of self-care, a reminder to nourish my body with what nature provides, and one of the simplest habits I have found for supporting long-term health. If I could encourage everyone to adopt just one wellness habit, drinking chlorophyll water each morning would be high on my list.
If you're looking for an easy way to add chlorophyll to your daily routine, the liquid chlorophyll I personally use and recommend is Earth Harmony Liquid Chlorophyll.
